Minnesota And Special Olympics Preview

SPEAKER_00

Now, off top, I gotta talk about. Well, I'm in Minnesota, right? And it's been a fun time. It's been it's been a hoot and a half already, and the week's just starting. I'm here for the National Special Olympic Games. Might do a little officiating, you know, a little refereeing, you know what I'm saying? But I'm also gonna get some videography done as well, too. So definitely tune into the YouTube channel, probably just social media, because I'll I'm gonna try to have a little content up there. But ladies and gentlemen, if you haven't tuned in to Special Olympics, the national games will be on ESPN, and then hell, you might even see some of my basketball games on YouTube. So the games that I've recorded and coached, actually. So yeah, definitely stay tuned. Tune in. It's a wonderful experience, it's a wonderful time, and I promise you, you will not be disappointed. Very entertaining basketball, and you will be caught off guard. You'll be very surprised because these people out here can who these athletes out here can get a bucket for show. So I'm always appreciative and I'm always loving to watch these games. And I hope you will as well, too, because again, they might they honestly might rival the NBA and WNBA. It's kind of crazy. Again, they put their heart, effort, passion into it, and sometimes you don't get that from the professionals. I might say more so the NBA than the WNBA, but you don't get this passion all the time. So you gotta appreciate it when you see it. But uh, like I said, it's the it's the top of the week. Uh we had the opening ceremony. Uh, Demi Lovato actually swung out. So, you know, we greatly appreciate you, Demi. Love you, baby, love you so much. The athletes of the the sports range from flag football, basketball, tennis. There's a whole bunch of different sports out here, ladies and gentlemen. So it's not even just basketball, I get to tune in and watch, it's a lot, and I mean a lot of sports. So, again, ladies and gentlemen, I hope you join in at some time. I hope you tune in to ESBN at some time. And once this trip is done, I'll probably look to post the videos that I record sometime next week. So, look to see y'all there. But like I said, I had to make sure I give that plug, and I'll be talking more about it as well along the way. I might even try to bring somebody onto the show just to talk about it, tell them get their give their experience about National Special Olympics.

Young WNBA Guards Who Pop

SPEAKER_00

But, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, yeah, we gotta we gotta talk about my experience at this Lynx game. I've been talking about Olivia Miles for like the last couple weeks now. I've been comparing her to Paige Beckers, Caitlin Clark, because they're the young guard, right? But I've also been doing a little research, and I've looked at the top 40, 50 guards in the WNBA. 25 and younger. And when I came up with my list, I'm not gonna lie to y'all, hell, I had a I had Paige Beckers, Olivia Miles, Sonia Citron, Caitlin Clark, and AZ Fudd. Sometimes Veronica Burton's nugging there. But that seemed to be the top five, ladies and gentlemen. I'm a Page Beckers fan, so if you want to say I'm biased, cool, heard you, got it. I genuinely believe she is. But after watching yesterday, I gotta admit, because I saw Olivia Miles go up against Sonya Citron. Them two girls can hoop. Them two girls can hoop. Sonia gave me quite a complete game, ladies and gentlemen. Okay, and Olivia Miles did as well, too. Like Sonya gave 21 points, six of 13 from the field. Three-pointer, she could have done a little better, but she made two of them things. I ain't overly mad. And then from the free throw line, she don't really miss too many free throws, seven of eight from the free throw line. But, ladies and gentlemen, her impact on the floor was stellar, all right? Her defense, quality. And while she only had one steal and one block, again, her defense, when you actually watch her, pretty spectacular. I'm not gonna lie to you. Olivia Miles, 22 points, 9 of 18 from the field, one of four from three, three of three from free throw, six assists, four turnovers, two blocks. Now, the turnovers we can excuse. She had she had some moments for sure, like the late game pass that kind of lost in the game on the inbound. Yeah, that might not have been the best moment, but she had other moments there. She had a couple and one buckets, she had a couple good dimes. Like Olivia Miles and Sonia Citron are pretty spectacular. Like they're really truly spectacular. I gotta try to interview them because they're gonna be around the WNBA for quite some time. Matter of fact, I gotta give a shout out to Marist, right? That's that's Sonia Citron's boyfriend. He actually plays for the Cowboys. I met Buddy in person. He was a cool guy, too. He was wearing Sonia's jersey and everything. And this is why I really appreciate the W, right? We see in the NBA, we see the athletes' wives, some mistresses and side pieces. They may not show as much support. They may not be wearing the jersey, or they might not even have that notable career that you can say, well, you gotta focus on your man. And I'm not even trying to be disrespectful when I say that. Because people are caring more about the athlete, right? Well, Maris actually is an athlete himself. That's right. The man plays in the NFL. And anybody can play in the NFL. I mean, not anybody. You got I personally think you're a little touched if you play football. But anybody can play in the NFL on any team. And Buddy plays for the one of the most notable teams in the NFL, the Cowboys. And not once, and I mean not once, did he mention this at all too? And I found that so remarkable because I had to look him up right fast, right? And I saw he was a cowboy. And I'm like, oh shnap. One, this confirms I'm really not the biggest NFL fan. But two, but two, but two, he truly does care about his woman, Sonya. So I just had to give Buddy some respect for that. Also, I apologize for not recognizing that you were a cowboy fan. That you were a cowboy, probably a fan too. But you're a cowboy. So again, tip of the cap to you, bro. That was much respect to you, doll. And I hope you have a good season this year, too. I'll be giving you some support, which is crazy because you got me rooting for the cowboys, and I'm not the biggest cowboy fan. It's crazy. But, anyways, back to the show. Sonia. Very good hooper. She can get a bucket without question. Two-way player. Olivia. Two-way player. So going forward, ladies and gentlemen, you gotta put eyes on these two women. Well, now again, I've mentioned Paige Beckers before for a couple years now. Everybody and their mama know about Caitlin Clark. It is what it is. The WNBA's future looks vastly bright. And

Lynx Game Atmosphere And Fan Love

SPEAKER_00

you gotta go and experience a WNBA game. You gotta experience at your hometown, and then you gotta experience one away. I'm telling you right now, ladies and gentlemen, when I went to this Minnesota Lynx game, I had a really good time. I'm talking about people were embrace, people were embracing, excuse me. People were friendly, funny, emotional, curious about yourself, like on a personal level. It seemed very genuine. The people who I sat next to, I genuinely appreciate it. And matter of fact, I hope they're listening to this show right now as we speak. Had a good time. Thank you for the ticket. I had to buy one of the tickets, but I had a good time for sure. Like it was the atmosphere just immaculate. It really truly is. It might be better than an NBA's atmosphere for sure. I even caught the, you know, the little t-shirts that they be shooting out the guns in the games. I actually even got one. Well, somebody threw it, I guess, technically. But I caught it. First time ever. Proud moment. Matter of fact, one low. Matter of fact, one lady even sat up there and bought me a little drinky drink. Because again, she cut me in line. And I greatly appreciate her for doing that. Because she didn't have to do that. I was very willing to pay my drink. But ladies and gentlemen, the point is, people are very friendly at these games. Every gym that I've gone to, the fans have been very enjoyable. And also the games have been pretty daggone

Mystics Upset Talk And Matchups

SPEAKER_00

good. Like we're watching the Mystics, the youngest team in WNBA history, going up against the Minnesota Lynx, the arguably the best team in the W right now. I said arguably. But again, they've been playing pretty well. And guess what? Nafisa Collier is not back at this point in time. She might be back on the 24th. I just hate it because she's going to be going to the DMV. And I would have loved to see her play with Olivia Miles. That's going to be such that's going to be such a good time. Here's the crazy thing. I expect the Lynx to get their get back and win. Because one, fees back. So you get a little bit like the the men the Lynx lost the rebounding advantage for sure. They did. They made some costly turnovers as well, too, but the rebounding advantage is where it was. The Mystics defense is pretty spectacular, ladies and gentlemen. And I know coming into the game, people were expecting the Minnesota Lynx to dominate, watch, like just wax them, right? That's not the case. You can't be basing stuff off records all the time. You gotta look at matchups, you gotta look at personnel. And the Lynx, I told you, I'm sorry, the Mystics before the season started, I stated they are one of my teams that can make the playoffs. Matter of fact, they might have been the first team I listed off in that playoff area, if you will. So in terms of playoff contenders, they were the first team I mentioned. So again, they had that potential for sure. So I wasn't surprised that the Lynx lost to the Mystics, even at home. And I'm not blaming it on Nafisa Koller not being there, because guess what? She ain't been there all season, and they've been like number one almost the entire time. So again, ladies and gentlemen, records don't really matter but so much. They don't. Because anybody can lose on any given night. You still gotta give effort, you still gotta get heart, still gotta execute. And the Lynx did two of the three. They executed decently enough, but towards the end, they definitely messed up a little bit. Like the game was actually pretty close. It was a low-scoring game for like a large part of the time. At halftime, I wanna say it was like in the 30s. And I'm like, bro, it's only the it's only it's halftime? That's it. I thought we were in the first quarter. Just basing that off the score. So again, there is a world where these misses can go to the playoffs and make some things shake. And I'm looking forward to it because we got to look at players like Kiki Erie Effen, Shakira Alston, who I again is is in my listing for most improved player. And she could still come out and win that award, too. It's a lot more season left. You know what I'm saying? Georgia Moore, I need to see a little bit more out of you personally. That's their point, guard, ladies and gentlemen. She seems okay. I'm not gonna lie to you. Defensively, I think Olivia Miles was definitely getting at her though. And offensively, too, because yeah, it was very tough for her to actually go up against Olivia Miles for sure. So I'm thinking, ladies and gentlemen, I'm thinking that it I'm thinking that these games are gonna be spectacular to watch. Olivia Miles, Georgia or Moore, if we can see this in the playoffs, I would look forward to watching that, ladies and gentlemen. But like I said, I'm not gonna harp too much on the game, right? Because y'all can watch ESPN, y'all can see what happened. Actually, you could probably even follow my page and watch what happened on my story. I got most of the game up there, low-key. But ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, you

A Challenge To Show Up

SPEAKER_00

gotta go watch these games in person. Over TV, like all it's fun, but in person is where it's at. It's so much, it's so fun, so entertaining. And that's why I'm happy I did it. And I just want to keep make sure I spread the message. So please, definitely watch more games in person. They matter. But ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, that does conclude the end of the episode. So I'm I'm I'm I'm curious. One, are you gonna tune in to watch National Special Olympic Games? You should. Not just because you might see me, but because you actually will see some entertaining players, some entertaining athletes, some, some, some hoopers that are pretty good. I've seen some of them too. Some of them can actually dunk. So you might witness somebody catch a body. You might even see a fight or two. And I'm not talking about boxing. But then also, make sure you go watch the WNBA show some support. Some of these athletes, even the Minnesota Vikings athletes were at the Minnesota League's game. Courtside. I was a little jealous because they were courtside. I wasn't. I was close though. I was close. So I'm not too jealous, but I was a little jealous, though. Olivia Miles got a tough little and one, you know what I'm saying? She yelled right in front of them. I'm like, oh, I would have loved to do that. I would have dapped up Olivia. Kick thank you. Like, that's what I would have done, bro. So that's why I was only a little jealous.

Natasha Howard Love And Goodbye

SPEAKER_00

I was only a little jealous on that one. And also, I gotta give a quick shout out to Natasha Howard. You know, what's up, Tosh? Uh, she had a really good game, bro. A really good game, and I appreciate her. I appreciate it. That's one of my favorite players in the W to watch. I ain't gonna hold you. She's a two-way player, she can get a bucket and she can stop one. She's been a former de-poy, all-star caliber player. I ain't gonna lie to you. Yeah, this this season, she's looking a little WNBA, all WNBA. Yeah, I ain't gonna lie. So, hey, Tosh, you know, I gotta give you credit when credit's due. You've been playing, you've been playing your tail off, sweetie. Appreciate you. We'll see you again sometime for sure. But ladies and gentlemen, like I said, that does include the end of the episode. So I'm curious, are you gonna watch the National Special Olympic Games? And are you gonna go to a WNBA game in person? I'm I I want to challenge you all to do that. But let me know your thoughts though. What are your thoughts about going to a National Special Olympic game or even watching it? As well as going to a WNBA game in person. If you have done it already, let me know what was your favorite moment. If you haven't done it already, what would it take to get you there? I want to know. But, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, that does conclude the end of the episode. So please make sure to like, subscribe, comment, tell anyone who's anyone one about the National Special Olympic Games, two, about the WNBA, and three about me. You know, but sure. My name is Trey, I'm the host of Get the Bucket. I hope you are all having a good one. Take care.
